Description
The serving trays, as it is known today, has evolved from the term “salver,” a term used in England in 1661 to denote a flat tray, usually made of silver. The word derives from the Latin “salvare,” meaning “to save.” Interestingly most of the modern day trays are made of plastic or wood.
